| Smarter Balanced Pilot Test Update |
Smarter Balanced has launched a Pilot Test page on the Smarter Balanced website. This website is a useful resource for anyone interested in information about the Pilot Test. It contains background information about how Pilot Test items were developed, the Pilot Test sample design, school participation information, and links to test administration manuals and FAQs. The Pilot Test page is located at: http://www.smarterbalanced.org/pilot-test/. Districts and schools will have until March 27, 2013 to sign up for the volunteer version of the Smarter Balanced Pilot Test. ODE encourages districts to participate in the volunteer version of the Smarter Balanced Pilot test, in order for students to become familiar with the new assessments. To sign up to participate, please complete the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SmarterBalancedPilot. Smarter Balanced has released training tests (each grade level and subject area) to assist students with becoming familiar with the new item types that are present on the Smarter Balanced Pilot Test. Students can also practice with the three different online calculators (Basic, Scientific, and Graphing) are available on the pilot test. The training test and online calculators can only be accessed on Mozilla Firefox, at http://sbac.portal.airast.org/Training_Test/student.html. |
