| Essential Skills Report Validation |
A new Essential Skills report will be released to the public on January 29, 2013. The report will provide information about students from the 2008-2009 cohort (Class of 2012) and how they met the Essential Skill of Reading requirement. The report will provide state and district level data, disaggregated by subgroup, on the number of students meeting the requirement via: 1) OAKS assessments; 2) other standardized tests; and 3) other means, such as work samples. The report will also include how those students performed on the OAKS assessment (based on the students’ best OAKS Reading testing event) by achievement level (Very Low/Low, Nearly Meets, and Meets/Exceeds). There will be separate reports for regular and modified diplomas. On November 8, the Essential Skills validation windows will open. You can log into the window via the Report Card/AYP application on the district secure site and see your school and district data. Once the window opens, your regional ESD partners will have student-level files (for the students included in the Essential Skills report) available upon request. The validations are scheduled to refresh on November 15, November 29, and December 6. The validation closes on December 7. Video Training dates: November 8 (2:30pm – 3:30pm) – Review of validation window and data sources.
