Reminder - CCSS Webinars for 2012-13
ODE is continuing its CCSS webinar series in 2012-13. While topics and dates have not been set for the entire series, the following webinars have been scheduled:

November 13 – Smarter Balanced 102: Performance Tasks
December 3 – CCSS Literacy in Science
December 5 – Smarter Balanced 103: Item Types and Instructional Implementation

All webinars will run from 3:30-4:30 and will be recorded for later viewing. Information about joining the webinars is posted on ODE’s Calendar Events Registration web page.

CCSS Stewardship Team Update
The Stewardship Team is a group of individuals from across the education spectrum working to support implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in Oregon. On October 10 approximately 40 Stewardship Team members attended an all-day work session at Gladstone High School focused on planning for professional development.

Attendees spent the majority of the day reviewing and providing feedback on a professional development planning document and draft district self-evaluation tool for determining readiness to implement the Common Core. They also received updates on the Next Generation Science Standards, resources for students with disabilities, and the Quality Review Rubric for lessons and units. The next meeting is scheduled for February.
