|USDOE Provides Additional Funding for Test Fee Program|
|The Oregon Department of Education received very good news Thursday from the United States Department of Education (USDOE) informing our agency they intend to provide additional funding for the 2012 Advanced Placement Test Fee Program. We are still waiting on exact details but it appears income-qualified students will have their Advanced Placement examination fees and International examination fees and registration fees paid in full for this year’s exams. The USDOE’s announcement allows ODE to rescind the notice given to students, schools, and districts on March 21, 2012 in the news release titled "Test Fee Program Grant Continued for 2011-2012 School Year."
We will continue to update you with more information as we receive further instruction from USDOE. Thank you in advance for your patience.
The Oregon Department of Education has received funds through the USDOE’s Advanced Placement Test Fee Program since 2002. This federal grant has provided the necessary funding to pay the Advanced Placement (AP) examination fees and the International Baccalaureate (IB) registration and examination fees for more than 30,000 low-income Oregon students.
Additional information will be shared as soon as it is available. Watch for postings here.
