|State Readiness Tool Data Collection Opens on April 2|
The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium along with the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) developed a Technology Readiness Tool to support states’ planning as they transition to next-generation assessments. This optional survey will provide Oregon with critical information about the technology needed to administer the new online assessments in four areas: computers, computer-to-tester ratio, network infrastructure, and staff and personnel.
The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) strongly encourages your participation during one or more of the six collection windows. The first of six data collection windows will be open April 2 to June 14, 2012. Contact the ODE Helpdesk (firstname.lastname@example.org ), 503-947-5717) to request a login after March 20, 2012. Online training for the tool will be available via a WebEx after March 26, 2012. Additional information on the Technology Readiness Tool can be found at www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=3557.
The Online Training Module, User Guide and FAQ are available at www.assess4ed.net. The training provides step-by-step instructions for using the tool and interpreting reports.
To access and use the State Readiness Tool, log on to www.TechReadiness.org between April 2 and June 14, 2012. The ODE Outreach Team will also be trained on the tool, and available for assistance.
