The Oregon State Board of Education approved the new Oregon K-12 Social Sciences Standards on Monday, August 15, 2011. The Social Sciences Content and Assessment Panel, numerous organizations, and hundreds of individuals all contributed to the development work that spanned more than two years. Additional resources are being developed to support districts, schools, and teachers as they implement the new standards.
