Webinar on Braille Interface August 17, 2011 (Required for Districts Serving Students Who Use Braille)

On Wednesday, August 17, from 1-3 PM, the Oregon Department of Education will be holding a WebEx webinar for Districts, about the new OAKS Online Braille Interface. This interface will be available to blind and visually impaired students beginning in November 2011. The paper-pencil version of the Braille Assessment is no longer available. This Webinar will describe the Braille interface and set up procedures, and prepare Districts for local responsibilities. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion at the end of the presentation.

All Districts that currently have blind or visually impaired students who are eligible to take OAKS Online using the Braille Interface in November are required to participate in this webinar. It is critical to have in attendance any network personnel as this interface requires the installation of additional hardware and software.
