Delay in adopting the High School Mathematics Content Standards

The adoption of new high school mathematics content standards by the State Board of Education was scheduled for May 2009, but has now been rescheduled for June 2009. The additional time will allow the State Board to coordinate discussions of the Mathematics High School Content Standards with the possible delay of the assessment of the Apply Mathematics Essential Skills. As a result we will be taking the high school standards to the Board as an information item in April. The standards will then go before the Board for an official first reading in May in preparation for adoption in June 2009.
