In January 2008 the State Board of Education approved a delay in the adoption of new high school math academic content standards. The adoption of new standards by the State Board of Education was scheduled for March 2008, but has been delayed until the 2008-09 school year. The delay will allow the revision to incorporate new guidance from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Math Panel. These reports are due to be released in the Fall and Spring of 2008, respectively.
