CCSS English Language Arts (ELA) and Literacy Instructional Materials Adoption-2013

Instructional materials evaluation occurs in August and is proposed for State Board adoption October 18, 2013. Adopted materials are available for purchase by districts.

Materials are to be in classrooms by September 2014
Publisher contracts and bid contract pricing is finalized in January 2014
School district selection/purchase takes place February-June through the Northwest Textbook Depository

TEACHER NOMINATIONS for 2013-14 Criteria Development for Common Core State Standards in Mathematics and/or English Language Proficiency

The Oregon Department of Education is looking for nominations of teachers, curriculum specialists and others who have interest and experience in Common Core State Standards in Mathematics and/or English Language Proficiency to participate in the development of instructional materials criteria.

Travel and substitute costs will be reimbursed.

One-Year Postponement of Materials for English Language Proficiency and Development (ELP/D)

Summary: There will be a one-year delay in the review and selection of English Language Proficiency and Development (ELP/D) instructional materials to allow for further development of the ELP/D framework and standards.
